4-H EXECUTIVE TEAM MEETING SUMMARY

for August 20^th, 2010

Meeting called to order by Melba Riel at 10:30am

Those in attendance: Melba Riel, Corinne Olsen, Anita Raddatz, Cheryl Bartholomew, Karen Poe

Discussed items to be put on September 4-H Council meeting agenda:

1. Do pledge of allegiance and 4-H pledge.

1. Discuss August council meetings minutes and vote to approve them.

1. Reports:

1. Financial report- Anita

1. Nominations: Should advertise for President Elect on the radio and re-advertise in the paper. Was not advertised in newspaper correctly the first time. New officers begin in October.

1. YLT/Ambassadors: (Cheryl/Elizabeth)

1. TRY teams- Will train all YLT in Sept. meeting. Will have Healthy Lifestyles and Science. Will also try to get professional to teach water resources and help with National Science Experiment in October. October start teaching TRY workshops. Space TRY training will be done by state in the fall.
2. Earthquake training-
3. Braille books- Almost done.
4. Training- may be in September/October
5. Parades- Sanpete County Fair
6. National Science Experiment- October
7. National Promotion Week- October
8. Ambassadors- will induct them at Achievement Night. Could have them sign a ledger.

Rabbit club- Karen Poe brought up problems with the rabbit club but it is under Matt Palmer’s jurisdiction. Karen will call Milton Olsen’s kids and Cheryl will call Erin Pipes to make sure they know what they need to know for the fair.

1. Promotion/marketing: Anita is on channel 10 for educational programming.

1. Scholarships: Committee will be meeting soon

1. Achievement Night- Sept. 30^th at 6pm at Ephraim Citizen’s Center

1. New business section to be addressed at next 4-H council meeting: Report on county fair, workshop dates
