4-H EXECUTIVE TEAM MEETING SUMMARY

for Feb. 19, 2010

Meeting called to order by Melba Riel at 9:55am

Those in attendance: Melba Riel, Corinne Olsen, Anita Raddatz, Cheryl Bartholomew

Discussed items to be put on Jan. 4-H Council meeting agenda:

1. Do pledge of allegiance and 4-H pledge.

2. Discuss Nov. & Feb. council meetings minutes and vote to approve them.

3. Reports:

a. Financial report- Anita

b. YLT/Ambassadors: (Elizabeth)

1. TRY teams- Science Palooza will be in March with 3 classes.

2. Ambassador meetings: Feb. 20th, March 12-13th (Teen Retreat)-

3. Braille books-almost done

4. Training-

5. Talked about changing due date for county and region ambassadors. Cheryl presented timeline flow chart.

c. Expansion & Review- Same committee as the scholarship committee

d. County Clubs: Needlework clubs-Melba

April 10th- 4-H Talent/public speaking/robotics/demonstrations/Fashion Revue Expo.

Will be done at Eva Beal auditorium in Manti. It is free. Will send out sign up list in Feb.

June 12th- 4-H Cooking contests

g. Website update : Anita fixed the minutes on the website.

March 13th- TRY Science activities (YLT)

How to: Resumes/Interviews (WOW)/Audiocast (15-20 Min.)

Sewing workshop (Nannette Watson)- 9-11am (need parents & sewing machine with you)

April 10th- NO WORKSHOP (Talent Expo-see contests)

May 8th- TRY Science activities (YLT)

How to: Cooking contests

June 8-10th-TRY Science activities (Robotics TRY teams)

June 12th- TRY Science activities (YLT)

July 10th- TRY Science activities (YLT)

How to: Visual Displays

August 14th- Create for Fair (Thrift shop sewing/ how sewing machine works/fashion show)

How to: Fair Judging

Sept. 11th- Aerospace activities at Fly-in at Mt. Pleasant airport (YLT/4-H leaders)

We committed to supply older kids to help with activities.

b. Scholarships: Committee needs to include 2 people from each council. Same committee as Expansion & Review.

c. Awards: Need to vote on pin award application & Achievement Point Card

5. Misc. items: Discussed changing the time for the meeting. Decided to keep it at 1pm on the second Saturday. Discussed if Melba would be willing to be Secretary next year. Anita will get a tape recorder to tape meetings.
