4-H EXECUTIVE TEAM MEETING SUMMARY
for March 19, 2010
Meeting called to order by Melba Riel at 10:05am
Those in attendance: Melba Riel, Corinne Olsen, Anita Raddatz, Cheryl Bartholomew, Karen Poe
Discussed items to be put on Jan. 4-H Council meeting agenda:
1. Do pledge of allegiance and 4-H pledge.
2. Discuss Nov. & March council meetings minutes and vote to approve them.
3. Reports:
a. Financial report- Anita
b. YLT/Ambassadors: (Elizabeth)

2. Ambassador meetings: Report on March 12-13th (Teen Retreat)
3. Braille books-
4. Training- Didn’t have meeting in March because only one showed up
c. Expansion & Review-
d. County Clubs: Needlework clubs-Melba
GPS-Karen/Chad
-Possible date April 24th (10am) to do maps
Media project- Anita/Cheryl
Audiocast- Anita is setting up blog with her as administrator
Dog/Rabbit- Flo Yearsley (They may start a small animal council) This club is under Matt Palmer for now.
e. Promotion/marketing: (Anita) Melba recommended that council meeting dates and time be in the newspaper. Corinne suggested to also put it on the radio.
f. Contests:
April 10th- 4-H Talent/public speaking/robotics/demonstrations/Fashion Revue Expo.
Will be done at Eva Beal auditorium in Manti. It is free. Will send out sign up list in Feb.
June 12th- 4-H Cooking contests
?- Region contests TBA.

April 10th- NO WORKSHOP (Talent Expo-see contests) Start at 9am

July 10th- TRY Science activities (YLT)
How to: Visual Displays
August 14th- Create for Fair (Thrift shop sewing/ how sewing machine works/fashion show)
How to: Fair Judging
Sept. 11th- Aerospace activities at Fly-in at Mt. Pleasant airport (YLT/4-H leaders)
We committed to supply older kids to help with activities.
b. Scholarships:
5. Misc. items: Discussed that we can’t have people provide food for Achievement Night due to not knowing how it is prepared.
Horse Council wants us to provide food services for 4 horse shows. Discussed concerns and dates and decided that we could possible do the July 6th date but were unavailable to do the other ones. We will offer to do July 6th but if they have someone that wants to do all four then they can let them do it. The July 6th horse show would be in Mt. Pleasant.
6. New business section to be addressed at next 4-H council meeting: Achievement Night (possibly at Senior Citizen Center $50), Set date for Achievement Night
